Jane has been involved in marketing and PR for tech start-ups since the early 2000s. This includes running her own agency, working for government-funded industry growth initiatives, as a senior account manager for Swaytech, and in global marketing roles, including VP Global Marketing for Invenco. A marketing generalist with a strong background in content creation, she strives to extract as much value as possible from a start-up marketing budget while building the long-term capability to scale and succeed.
Why are you passionate about working with startup founders?
I am passionate about what I do and strongly connect with others that are similarly driven to succeed. I find startup founders cover a wide spectrum of interest and ability when it comes to marketing. Some are very open to new ideas others you need to take on a journey - but that is what makes working them really interesting. It is exciting to be part of a companies success story - no matter how small a role you have to play.
What experience do you have working with startup founders?
I have worked with start ups that barely have a product and are pre-revenue through to those that admit to still acting like a start-up ten years or more on into their journey. I have worked with companies that have been purely bootstrapped through to a range of different levels of funding and investment. My experience covers a broad range of tech and industry sectors - I am told one of my skills is being able to translate the highly technical into the highly understandable which is particularly useful in helping startup founders articulate the value of what they are creating.
