Addressing the gap of Women Founders in NZ

Of approximately 2,000 high-growth startups in New Zealand, only 21.6% have women on the founding team.

Powered by Ministry of Awesome, the Electrify Accelerator is a competitive startup accelerator that will turbocharge the progress of woman-led startup ventures from early-stage to potentially investable over the course of the 12-week programme.

This is NZ's first-ever whole ecosystem-backed startup accelerator made for woman founders and backed by Aotearoa's leading investors, government, and startup enablers

The Electrify Accelerator programme aims to identify high calibre woman-led startup ventures and accelerate their journey from prototype to MVP and early-stage investment readiness.

Designed to fit around a full-time job, this programme will require you to dedicate approximately 25 hours per week towards launching version 2.0 of your startup.

The 3 key phases of the accelerator are:

Phase 1: Customer/Product Market Fit

In this phase, we will explore and test your venture’s target customer, personas, channels, marketing, sales pipeline to get a good grip on product market fit.

Phase 2: Product/Growth/Revenue Models

In this phase, we will focus on product development and management, growth hacking, revenue models, and we will begin developing your pitch.

Phase 3: Financials, Funding, and Pitch

In this final phase of the programme, we will cover financial essentials, growth strategy, funding for growth, with Demo Day preparation taking place throughout.

It all begins at Kick-off Bootcamp

Two members from the selected startup teams will be invited to attend the opening meet up event in Ōtautahi Christchurch. Here’s where you’ll learn all the need-to-knows about the accelerator programme and meet with your mentors, programme team and peers. Travel and accommodation stipends will be made available for up to two members from each start up team. From there you have 10 weeks of intensive programming, delivered virtually, and flexible enough to fit your busy schedule.

And it crescendos with an exciting Demo Day!

An in-person wrap up showcase where each startup venture will have the opportunity to pitch to New Zealand’s most prolific startup investors and startup community leadership. If you want your startup venture to get in front of any crowd, this is it.
