Camia Young - Ohu
Camia is passionate about building 21st Century cities. Since moving to Christchurch, she has been involved in several community minded initiatives including Ohu (Office for Holistic Urbanism), Exchange Christchurch (XCHC), Te Pūtahi: Christchurch Centre for Architecture and City Making, the Gap Filler Pallet Pavilion, and Studio Christchurch. Before moving to New Zealand, Camia practiced as an Architect in Europe and is now a Trustee of the Hillary Institute, founding Partner of Ohu Development and founding Director of XCHC (Exchange Christchurch).
Camia will share the Collett’s Corner project, the first equity crowdfunded commercial property development in New Zealand.
Andrei Link & Steven Moe - Active Associate: The Legal Chat Bot
Steven Moe is a co-founder of Active Associate, a chat-bot solutions provider for professional services firms to engage with clients. He is a Senior Associate at Parry Field Lawyers and host of Canterbury focused seeds podcast which has 85 interviews with entrepreneurs and many locals doing good in various ways. After studying at Canterbury University he became a lawyer who worked in Wellington at a national law firm, then went overseas and spent 11 years working on large commercial business deals in Tokyo (4 years), London (3 years) and Sydney (4 years). Returning to New Zealand 3 years ago he looks to discover legal solutions for businesses with a focus on start-ups and empowering those doing good as he has particular expertise there and published the book “Social Enterprises in NZ: A Legal Handbook”. He loves avocados, has 4 kids, six chickens and two rabbits.
Steven will be talking about start-up lessons learned with Active Associate, the challenges of talking with lawyers about the coming disruption they face in their industry and what the future will look like for client engagement.
Andrei Link, co-founder and CEO of Active Associate - an early stage company developing AI-enabled conversational solutions for customer engagement and lead generation. He has over 25 years of marketing, product and project management experience in leading international companies including a global NASDAQ-listed corporation and several innovative export-oriented New Zealand businesses. Andrei has served on several industry boards and committees, and mentored early stage businesses through Mentors New Zealand, Lightning Lab accelerator and other programmes. His qualifications include an MBA degree from the Massey University with electives in marketing, finance and accounting. Andrei will be talking about the challenges of achieving the problem-solution fit and product-market fit in a two speed environment.
