Coffee & Jam is Christchurch's longest running weekly meet up for entrepreneurial-minded people. It’s a great place to see ordinary people doing extraordinary things, be inspired, network, and share in an innovative space.

 

This week's speakers are:

1. Christina Baldarelli - Patch

Christina is the CEO of Patch, a sustainable tourism startup that is taking agri-tourism to the next level. Originally from California, Christina lived and worked in 6 countries on 4 continents before settling in New Zealand in 2013. Through managing experiential programs in international development, voluntourism, study abroad, and professional education, Christina found purpose in the belief that interacting with new people and places has the power to makes us better people. Christina spent 5 years with Massey University developing their National Expedition program, which mixes adventure tourism with experiential education, and matches international students with local internship placements that need their skills. She's now leading Patch, one of the 8 startups accepted into the Lightning Lab Tourism accelerator. Christina will be talking about taking a new startup through the Lightning Lab process as a first time founder, the challenge of validating a two sided market, and their hybrid product which includes digital elements as well as sustainably built structures.

2. Louise Webster - Ideas Accelerator

Louise Webster is a Co-founder and Director of Ideas Accelerator an innovation agency focused on Environmental Innovation. She is a motivated senior leader, entrepreneur and CEO who brings more than 18 years of experience in; innovation, sustainability, business management, strategic thinking and transformative practices. She works across multiple industries helping them to use design thinking and regenerative approaches to develop systems, processes, products and services for a changing world.
Louise will talk about why environmental innovation is important in the 2020's and beyond and what Canterbury is doing about it. Now is the time for business to collectively act to prevent climate change and improve environmental performance.
