After the launch in 2011, the company has expanded globally, servicing customers in Sydney, Melbourne, London, NYC, etc. 

After the break, we will have Steve talking about impact investing, where investments are made into organisations in a way that generates both a financial return but also a positive environmental or social impact.

Michael Story (left) // NZ Music Teacher

Michael Story, the founder of NZ Music Teachers, fostering a life-long love of music by helping connect people with talented, passionate and experienced music teachers in New Zealand. After launching in 2011 Michael has expanded the website directory platform to support teachers in Sydney, Melbourne, London, New Jersey and NYC along with rebranding the platform for Dance Teachers in NZ and just last week Personal Trainers. With a background in web development and music. Michael will be talking about expanding the business, launching into other niches and automating processes.

Steven is a partner at Parry Field Lawyers based in Christchurch.  He helps start-up companies as well as more mature tech companies, investors, social enterprises and others. 

He has a unique focus on empowering impact and published the book: “Social Enterprises in New Zealand: A Legal Handbook”.  To educate and grow the impact ecosystem he hosts a weekly podcast “Seeds” www.theseeds.nz interviewing inspiring people with more than 145 interviews and more than 49,000 listens.  

As older income streams dry up for charities and social enterprises and businesses, they need to be innovative and think about how they will survive in the future. An area of growing interest is impact investing where investments are made into organisations in a way that generates both a financial return but also a positive environmental or social impact.
