EVENT RECAP: Coffee and Jam #194

At this session, we finished off the series of UCE summer school student pitches.

The first speaker today pitched Refresh. Refresh is an all organic wellness tonic created and founded by Katherine Pearse. It was created because Katherine believes that everyone needs good health and nutrition and that we are not currently getting that from our current tonics. She has created a tonic from apple cider sourced from the Kapiti Coast and organic blackcurrant to give it sweetness. The tonic has no added sugar. It is currently in the development stage and Katerine is looking to launch it in March of this year in cafes around Christchurch.

For more information, you can contact Katherine at K.Pearse@gmail.com or check out her Instagram @refreshtonic.

Speaker two pitched Sonder Leather. Founder Tom Richardsons' main goal is to inspire an appreciation for craftsmanship. He has started this inspiration journey 12 months ago when he realised that it was hard to find a reasonably priced leather wallet that was high quality. So, he decided to start making his own leather wallets. Sonder wallets are made to last using the strongest leather in the world, and the thread they use to sew boat sails together. They are designed to avoid unnecessary bulk, so they stay slim and aim to last a long time.

Coffee & Jam is Christchurch's longest running weekly meet up for entrepreneurially-minded people. It’s a great place to see ordinary people doing extraordinary things, meet people, learn and share in a creative space, hear about other events in Christchurch and indulge in a little bit of free coffee, jam and bread.

If you have an idea you'd like to pitch get in touch with Gina at gina@ministryofawesome.com.
