Future City Activator- RECAP

Future City Activator was a huge success and we were blown away by the ideas that the teams came up within just 48 hours. Here is a quick summary of each teams ideas.

WaiWatch: WaiWatch seeks to install smart water measurement sensors in homes which would identify water usage patterns and trends.

BikePoints: Bike Points offers an innovative solution to the problem of high per capita carbon footprint in our city. The Bike Points mobile platform will enable companies to incentivise employees to cycle to work.

Vector Sector: The Vector Sector team pitched a youth-targeted mobile and web application focused on reducing carbon footprint. The application will have a carbon footprint calculator which put the data in a language which will be easy to understand for youth.

Intelligent Ecology: Intelligent Ecology aims to build a centralised shared capability toolbox system that will empower and enable Environment groups to fulfil their objectives.

Give me Shelter: The Give Me Shelter team proposes a mobile application which would use spatial mapping to assess moisture levels, identify mold etc..

Digital Rescue: Digital Rescue plans to build a mobile application for first responders which would help them in identifying the right shelter for any homeless citizen that they are attending to.

Normalizers: An online social platform which encourages users to choose greener, healthier alternatives to transport.

Home Ground:  Home Ground will offer a web platform which will list curated activities and community events.

From here the top four teams will go through an application workshop to fine-tune their applications for the Innovation & Sustainability Fund.
