Coffee and Jam #282 - SHOUTOUTS

Coffee & Jam is Christchurch's longest running weekly meet up for entrepreneurial-minded people. It’s a great place to see ordinary people doing extraordinary things, be inspired, network, and share in an innovative space.

Our Speakers this week are:

1. UCE Summer Startup Teams

  • Natasha Peter  - Koppie

Tash

Natasha Peter is the founder of Koppie, a bespoke mug and apparel company, that seeks to create memories through mugs. Tash recently graduated with a degree in Visual Communication (Graphic Design) from Ara Institute of Canterbury. While studying at Ara, Tash saw a need to celebrate local businesses in Christchurch, while getting tourists more involved in the CBD. She was involved in Ara’s Pitch a Project, which ignited the idea of Koppie and lead to applying for the UCE Summer Startup Programme.

Equi

Tayla is the founder of Equilibrium Equine; an exciting new equine tech company looking to integrate IOT technology into the equestrian industry. She is currently in her final year of a commerce degree at the University of Canterbury studying Marketing & Strategy/Entrepreneurship and has been involved in the UC's 85K challenge, in which she got second place. Ever since, she discovered a passion for business and a drive to provide high-quality, smart, and reliable devices to improve the industry.

2. Carl Pavletich - D4 Creative

Carl better

Carl is the Director of Sensible Geo Mapping, which enables citizens to contribute towards more accessible and liveable cities. He also set up New Zealand's first mobile Makerspace, the 'Makercrate', which led to the establishment of Fab Lab Chch. Carl will introduce the D4 Creative, which is a new initiative from Ara Art and Design that uses Human Centred Design.
He will present why this feature is so important in terms of a process D4 Creative seeks to redefine professional practice at Ara.

Coffee and Jam is your opportunity to meet new people in the Christchurch entrepreneurial ecosystem and indulge in a little bit of free coffee, jam and fresh bakery bread.
