Startup Breakfast Club: Knowing Your Customer

Knowing and understanding your customer is at the core of every successful Startup. Whether it be directly to individuals or businesses. Understanding what customers wants and needs are is they key to providing them with an extraordinary service. At this Startup Breakfast Club we have invited two speakers to discuss the importance of ‘Knowing Your Customer’.

First off, you’ll hear Iryna Melnyk, Product Director at Octopus Deploy. Iryna is passionate about creating software that makes a difference. She is mainly interested in customer and business value as much as the collaborative process of building software, practices and methodologies (Continuous Discovery, Agile, Lean), and helping teams to succeed. Iryna will present on the importance of ‘The Customer Interview Process’ and how this can be done effectively as a Startup.

Next up, you’ll hear from Stuart Dillon-Roberts, Founder at Hail. Stuart leads Hail, a software service that allows organisations to create, collaborate and share digital publications. The Hail team is based at Te Ōhaka with a primary focus on the EduTech sector. Stuart holds a Masters Degree from London University. Stuart is an avid supporter of social good organisations having formed New Zealand’s first social-enterprise digital agency as well supporting numerous charitable and social good organisations.

Stuart will speak at this event about what tools and techniques were used for Hail, as a small Startup, to get to know their customers better.

Parking: There are parks across the road by Washington Skate park or out the front of the Te Ōhaka building along Moorehouse avenue. These parks can fill up very quickly in the morning. There are also parks found along Allen Street off of Madras Street along the front of the ARA building. The rest of the carparks found around this area are pay to park carparks.

Directions to Event: K Block is located in the glass building along Moorehouse Avenue – Directly across the road from Washington Skate Park. The easiest way to the event is to walk through the car park and enter the glass doors, right of the Strategy building on the corner of Moorhouse Avenue & Madras Street.
