Content & Communications Specialist

Location: Christchurch

Status: Part-Time Contract (approx. 24 hours per week)

About the Role

As Content & Communications Specialist, you'll tell the stories that showcase New Zealand's founders, celebrate innovation and connect entrepreneurs with the programmes, opportunities and people that help them succeed.

Working closely with the Marketing Manager, you'll create compelling content across digital, email, social media and web while supporting integrated marketing campaigns across Ministry of Awesome's portfolio of programmes, including Founder Catalyst, Startup Aotearoa, Electrify Aotearoa and other ecosystem initiatives.

You'll own the journey from story to screen — interviewing founders, writing compelling content, designing supporting assets, publishing across web, email and social media, and using data and insights to understand what resonates with our audiences.

This is a hands-on role for someone who loves storytelling but is equally comfortable building an email campaign in HubSpot, updating a website, creating a social asset, developing a presentation or coordinating content across multiple channels.

Success in this role is measured by the quality and consistency of our storytelling, stronger audience engagement, effective marketing campaigns and content that helps grow Ministry of Awesome's programmes, community and reputation.

About You

You are a creative communicator who loves turning ideas, conversations and founder journeys into compelling stories.

You have excellent writing and editing skills and enjoy interviewing people to uncover the moments, insights and experiences that make their stories worth sharing.

You understand that great content is more than words. You are comfortable creating visual assets, designing marketing collateral, updating websites and delivering content across multiple channels.

You are confident using marketing platforms and digital tools, including HubSpot, to build campaigns, publish communications and connect audiences with opportunities.

You are highly organised, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality.

You enjoy collaborating with founders, programme teams, partners and the wider ecosystem to tell stories that create impact.

Most importantly, you are passionate about entrepreneurship and excited by the opportunity to showcase the founders building New Zealand's future.
